In one look

The problem

If you have more half-finished products than hours, it is hard to say which one is closest to making money. Attention goes to whatever broke last, and a spreadsheet score gets rated once and then goes stale.

What we built

Add each product through a guided wizard, or paste in the audit reports you already have. The Matrix scores it on 12 weighted readiness dimensions, works out which of six monetization gates it has actually earned, and places it on a 2×2: Cash Now, Quick Win, Build Bet or Park/Kill. Each product gets a ranked list of next actions.

Where it is now

A web app with Google sign-in, free during early access. It started as a private board for Ilian's own products and has since been opened to other accounts. It is still early, with no paid plan.

What this would have cost in 2024

About $9.4k and 5–8 weeks

2024 team: 2 people: a full-stack developer and a designer. Built here by one founder working with AI in 4 months (18 working days).

How it was built

From first commit to current build in 4 months (18 working days)

  1. First commit: a private board

A sign-in-only dashboard for ranking Ilian's own products, fed by audit reports that could be imported in bulk or pasted in as markdown.

  2. Gates, signals and a playbook in a day

A monetization-gate schema, gate pills on every card, a signal layer for real-world evidence, and a Playbook view of next actions.

  3. Earned gates, not claimed ones

A product's gate is now worked out from its evidence and can be demoted as well as promoted. A gate only counts if every earlier gate has cleared. The rules have unit tests.

  4. Opened to other accounts

Each product, score and action is scoped to the account that made it with row-level security policies. A security pass followed in October.

Who did what

The founder decided

  • Scores use only facts that can be checked. A dimension with no evidence is left out, never guessed.
  • A product's gate is what it has earned, not what its owner says it has.

AI built and checked

  • The web app, built in Lovable from the founder's briefs: 610 of the 615 commits come from Lovable's agent.
