Web3D AI Space: a studio you can tour
A browser 3D tour of a VR studio: six platforms, one per service, and an AI guide to ask.

In one look
The problem
A studio's work is hard to judge from a slide or a project grid. Buyers want to feel what a VR or 3D experience is like before they call.
What we built
A 3D tour that runs in the browser, with no headset or app. Visitors enter a terminal at dusk and take a guided rail tour past six platforms. An AI guide answers questions by voice or text. The tour leads to See our work, Book a call or a short proposal form.
Where it is now
Live on the studio's own domain as its 3D showcase and lead form. It is a portfolio and sales tool for VR Express, not a stand-alone product. A security pass followed in October.
What this would have cost in 2024
About $12k and 6–10 weeks
2024 team: 2 people: a 3D front-end developer and a 3D artist, with part-time backend help. Built here by one founder working with AI in 9 months, 35 working days.
| Piece | 2024 hours |
|---|---|
| 3D terminal scene: six platforms, rail tour camera, physics movement, quality tiers | ~137 |
| 3D art: locomotive, billboard tower, rigged avatars, key visual, loading screen | ~75 |
| AI voice guide: speech in and out, grounded answers, spend limits | ~47 |
| Sales layer: start gate, boarding pass, proposal form, lead alert, funnel tracking, admin tools, security pass | ~59 |
| Total (PERT) | ~318 |
Method: PERT (O+4M+P)/6 per piece; low = O × $25, likely = PERT × $37.5, high = P × $50 (Accelerance 2024 Eastern-Europe band). Prices the shipped tour once, not the earlier builds.. These are estimates of what a team would have needed in 2024, not invoices.
How it was built
From first commit to current build in 9 months, 35 working days
- First commit: a drivable 3D world
A train you drive through a small 3D city, with stations that open the studio's work, a presentation mode and a voice guide you can talk to.
229 commits in the first week - Rebuilt as a floating space
Product islands joined by drivable bridges, a configurator zone with a Quest 3 headset model, a minimap and graphics quality tiers. The September rebuild replaced this layout.
503 commits in 4 days - The Express Terminal
A fresh build: a hexagonal terminal with a locomotive, six platforms (one per service) and a six-bay billboard tower. Dusk lighting and the rail tour followed on 22 September.
137 commits on 4 and 5 September - Made into a sales tool
A start screen with See our work and Book a call, a boarding pass with a short proposal form, an AI guide that stops at each platform, and its own funnel tracking. Spoken replies now stream as they are generated.

Who did what
The founder decided
- Platform props follow a golden-ratio size ladder, with the locomotive as the anchor.
- The tour has a way out at the start: See our work and Book a call link to the main site.
- Visitors without WebGL see real projects and a plain-text version, not placeholder rows.
AI built and checked
- Built in Lovable from the founder's briefs: 1,105 of the 1,110 commits are Lovable's.
- The October security pass was written with Claude Code.
